A teak outdoor table should be assessed with its chairs, intended table setting and maintenance requirements. Begin with the usable dimensions and base arrangement, then confirm the timber and finish specification.
For hotel and restaurant projects, the table also needs to work in the proposed layout. A product photograph can explain the design, while a measured plan and a complete sample help resolve the details before an order is approved.
Choose the table size around its use
Lay out the plates, glasses, serving dishes and other items the table will regularly hold. Include any table lighting or permanent accessories. Use that setting to assess the tabletop rather than choosing from seat count alone.
Review the dimensions of the selected chairs and the positions diners will occupy. Table legs, bases and aprons can reduce usable seating space even where the top appears large enough.
Check the occupied layout
Draw the table with chairs in use and allow for people sitting down or leaving. Keep the required access and service routes in the plan.
Our outdoor dining table size guide explains the relationship between the top, chairs and surrounding area. Use the actual model dimensions when preparing the furniture schedule.
Review the base and chairs together
Put a chair beside the proposed table sample or an accurate mock-up. Check armrest clearance, legroom and whether the chair moves close enough for comfortable dining.
Ask staff to move and reset the sample. Include any required glides or adjustment details in the specification, and request confirmation that the proposed table is intended for the stated commercial use.
Keep construction details in the approval
Record the overall dimensions, tabletop design, base arrangement and assembly requirements. Ask which parts arrive assembled and check delivery access against the packed dimensions.
Review the timber specification with the supplier. A brown colour sample does not identify the wood species or the treatment used on it.
Agree the finish and expected appearance

Confirm whether the proposed teak outdoor table has a natural surface or an applied finish. Record the reference and the care instructions for that particular product.
Gloster’s natural teak care guide describes allowing its untreated timber to weather towards silver-grey. A factory-finished table may need a different routine, so the intended result belongs in the project brief.
If a maintained brown tone is important, ask what approved treatment system is proposed, how it should be applied and what ongoing work it requires. Do not assume that every table needs the same oiling routine.
Inspect a complete sample

Review the tabletop edges, joints and finish beside the selected chairs and upholstery. Include the areas diners and staff will touch during normal use.
Where an approved surface treatment is being considered, follow the manufacturer’s sample-testing instructions and assess the result after its stated drying or curing period. Keep the accepted sample reference with the order.
Our guide to cleaning teak outdoor furniture covers routine care questions to consider alongside the table supplier’s instructions.
Keep maintenance practical for the property
Describe exposure, daily cleaning and seasonal storage when discussing the table. Include the time and access needed for any finish maintenance.
For phased orders, discuss how new furniture will sit beside pieces already exposed outdoors. Keep the timber and finish references, sample approvals and treatment history so later additions can be reviewed with useful information.
The hotel outdoor furniture buying guide provides a wider checklist for specifications, samples and delivery requirements.
Prepare a table and seating enquiry
Review the proposed outdoor tables with their dining chairs before confirming quantities.
Send Vectraout your plan, preferred table sizes, reference images and required quantities. Include your material and finish requirements, delivery destination and target date, so the table and seating specification can be discussed as a complete project.
